Examination Period

Hello to all Monash students, we would like to remind you guys that examination periods are just round the corner. Hopefully, everyone has not been burning the midnight oil as consistent studying will not stress you out. Anyways, this post is also to remind the students that the welfare committee is here to help out in anyway possible through these stressful times.

Here are some tips on how to manage the examination stress:-
  1. Take a 10-15 minute study break once a while to allow for better studying rhythm
  2. Have group studies to help one another to cope with the subjects you are not doing so well in.
  3. Listening to music helps for some people. Recommended song : Pachelbel - Canon in D ( It supposedly tunes your brain waves to the alpha wave which is the optimum brain wave for studying)
  4. Eating basically anything. Help cheer you up anytime for any situation but be conscious of what you are eating. You can indulge but in moderation.

The Welfare Division of MUSA would like to wish everyone Good Luck for the coming final examination period. All the Best!

Shout Out!

This post is in response to the query being made by a hostel student through the Monash Voice Out.

He/She has stated that there are problems regarding the Internet speed in their respective hostel. The problem that we encountered is, the hostelite committee doesn't know which hostel this student is referring to. Therefore, this is to inform the student that he can contact us again either through this blog or e-mailing us @ monashhostelite@gmail.com regarding which hostel he/she is staying in so that we can bring this up to the management.

In addition, hostel students are also encouraged to attend this semester's second MUSA Student Forum if there are any complaints which they would like the hostelite committee to hear about. The details are as stated below:

MUSA STUDENT FORUM SEMESTER 2, 2009

Venue : LT 6003
Time : 12-1pm
Date : 8th October 2009 (This Thursday)

Hungry for some GRUB!

There seems to be loads of places to dine in the Subang and Sunway region. A variety of restaurants ranging from Western to Korean to Japanese to Chinese. So many to choose from and don't know which one to pick. Well here are some great recommendations of the restaurants that YOU, hostel students can try!

The first recommendation would be 'Mian Dui Mian' - 面对面

Here is the link on the review of the food. I've read the review and I think is sufficient and adequate to persuade all you 'Pan Mee' lovers out there to sample their fine cuisine.

HEY FELLOW HOSTEL MONASHIAN'S

Due to technical difficulties ( election and assignment season), we, on the behalf of Hostelite Committee would like to apologize for the inactivity of this blog. As we have managed to make a shout out and raise awareness regarding our existence in Monash during elections, we strongly urge students to participate in the activities that we are planning to line up for hostel students.

Here is the update for 2009:-
  1. We have somewhat established a connection with hostel students and desire to foster better ties with YOU! be it through the blog, Monash Voice Out (MVO) or Student Forum.
  2. Hostelite Dinner for 1st & 2nd semester was well received as seen from the students response by the students.
  3. Trying to serve YOU better by providing great spots and locations to make your stay here more comfortable why studying in Monash which we will continue to do.
Therefore, hostelites and students of Monash University, Hostelite Committee welcomes your opinions, thoughts and suggestions on how better to improve your welfare here in Monash as well as Malaysia.

Finally, we would like to wish a Selamat Hari Raya to Muslim students and a happy holiday during this Mid-Sem Break.
